    May's decluttering tip... | ||||||
|
       Breaking the habit of clutter It takes 6 weeks to develop a new habit. So here's my 6 week plan to ease you into having a clutter free home. Weeks 1 & 2: Find one unwanted item in your home and place it in the bin, recycling or charity bag. It can be a holey pair of socks, a chipped mug, that deep fat fryer you never use, a book you'll never read again, old nail varnish, an out of date pub guide. Anything you'll never need again. Weeks 3 & 4: Now up this to 2 items a day. It should be getting easier. Just cast your eye around your home until you see something you don't use or like. Weeks 5 & 6: Now find 4 items a day you no longer want. Allow yourself 15 minutes to do this. Once you've
        got used to letting go of things on a daily basis you're now ready to
        tackle the bigger jobs. See if you can do an hour at a time now. Decluttering
        does get easier when you get used to it. Always be pleased with what you
        achieve!
